DOG SLEDDING
Upon arrival at the camp, you will first set off on your dogsledding adventure. We will provide you with warm winter clothing and one of our guides will give thorough safety instructions and a practical demonstration on how to steer the sled.
Once you are ready, you will embark on your journey: Two people will share one sled and a dog team. One is the “musher” (driver) while the other can sit back and enjoy the ride. (If your group includes children, please kindly note, that each child must be accompanied by an adult.) You will get the chance to switch places midway during the 10-12 km dog sledding trail. Depending on snow conditions, we will spend up to 1 hour 30 min to complete this trail.
TROMSØ ICE DOMES
After the dogsledding activity, we will serve lunch and your tour will continue with a guided tour at the Ice Domes.
We will serve a complimentary traditional Norwegian soup/stew. The main ingredients are vegetables with meat or fish. We serve bread, coffee, tea and water with the meal. A non-alcoholic ice shot at the stunning ice bar is complementary. You will also be able to purchase other drinks, which will be served in the ice restaurant or ice bar.
Vegetarian food can be provided if notice is given upon booking. Please advise us in advance of any food allergies or dietary restrictions: we will provide an alternative option. If no notice is given in advance an extra fee of 150 NOK will be charged.
During the guided tour at the Ice Domes you get to marvel at the incredible ice sculptures and snow carvings, learn about the construction process of the domes and the impact the snow has for all life in the Arctic. As part of this combination tour, there will be some free time to walk around by yourself and visit the reindeer that are herding next to the Ice Domes. Eventually, your daytime adventure has come to an end and it will be time to board the bus back to Tromsø city center.
.
Please note that dog sledding with our Alaskan huskies is an active experience. Because of the activity level, we do not recommend dog sledding for people with physical disabilities, back problems, pelvic problems or for pregnant women past five months.
